A long cherished dream has come true for Dr. Bea Andersen!

The opening of the Andersen Medical Centre coincided with the 10th anniversary of our foundation on 2nd November 2007. Many invitees were present to witness to this celebratory event.

The hospital was officially opened by the German ambassador.

Representatives of the German development bank, DEG,  were also present. Other donations were received from the Mount Elgon Trust, de Foundation European Cals User Group and many private donors. The hospital could not have been built withhout their financial support.

The opening was accompanied by much African singing and dancing.

There were many speakers, such as representatives from the Kenyan Health Ministry, and also from Uganda, where it is now easier to obtain healthcare.

The hospital is well-equipped and will perform an important function in the region.

The chairman of the SOK, presented a gift in the form of a photograph of the hospital, that will later take pride of place inside.
